We are known for helping artist monetize their art, having a community and allowing artists to tell their stories.

our reason to the cause

Success looks like helping other artists of color a way to build viable careers without having to rely on the traditional channels. I provide them with the support, visibility, and financial opportunities that they typically would be shut out of or would have difficulty acquiring on their own through art.

What problem are we solving:

While artists of color, particularly Black artists, are gaining more attention from the industry’s gatekeepers, it’s still difficult for them to establish strong relationships. The Public Library of Science found that 85% of the works in the collections of all major US museums belong to white men. African-Americans have the lowest share – just 1%. And 78% of artists earning their primary income from their work are white, according to a report based on data from the US Census and the American Community Survey. Artists of color are gaining increased visibility, but they aren’t necessarily finding sustainable opportunities to support themselves. In order to build long, viable careers, they need supportive networks that don’t force them to compromise their art.

Our impact:

ComfiArt provides artists with business and networking opportunities through our four pillars. With our e-commerce platform, they can earn commission through the sale of original pieces as well as items featuring their work. Our membership community offers access to exhibition opportunities, networking, and perks that help them build their brand. We host events that allow artists to promote their brand and connect with peers. And our partnerships broaden the scope of opportunities we’re able to offer. Through this multi-faceted approach, we’re offering artists of color a way to build viable careers without having to rely on the traditional channels. ComfiArt provides them with the support, visibility, and financial opportunities that they typically would be shut out of or would have difficulty acquiring on their own.

MEET
DIONNA
COLLINS

Founder and CEO of ComfiArt

ComfiArt is the brainchild of Dionna Collins, a creative entrepreneur who’s dedicated to helping artists establish their voice and earn a living. She first fell in love with art as a child, which led her to a career in graphic design and marketing. Despite building an impressive resume, she eventually grew disillusioned with the grind, politics, and monotony of the 9-5 life. She decided to channel her love for art as well as her knowledge of e-commerce and marketing into something new.

She began ComfiArt as a way to bring together artists, consumers, and the broader community. It started with e-commerce. Artists could earn a commission by featuring their work on home decor items. Now, ComfiArt is a unique community that offers opportunities for them to promote their brand, sell their work, and connect with peers. By providing a place for artists to network and earn income from their art, Dionna has reached more than 2,000 artists. In 2020, ComfiArt partnered with Power Haus Creative, creating multiple murals around the city of Atlanta. This is the first of many collaborations that will expand the realm of opportunities ComfiArt provides.
